van Gough research

Vincent van Gogh (Dutch:; 30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a post-Impressionist painter of Dutch origin whose work, notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold colour, had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. After years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound, generally accepted to be self-inflicted (although no gun was ever found). His work was then known to only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still.
When i draw in the style of van Gogh i like to show all the brush marks just as he did he used them in a favour against him instead of him trying to paint too realistic he paints in a abstract manor he shows expressionism in the colour tones that he uses for different portraits the eyes in his paintings are all different showing different feelings and emotions.

The image above's one of my most loved pieces of art of all time let alone van Gogh's  like the way all the colors are layyed out and how the paint strokes on the page show what and how the wind flows by using the same color in different shades the yellow shades on the coat and stars really break up the landscape. As you may see I used expressionism and the way van gogh paints into one self portrait/ transcript. I had to use the same colors and us the same brush strokes that van gogh used, what I found difficult and time consuming was the smaller brush strokes on the jacket, I used yellow and blue and white to show different tonal value, I enjoyed painting in the same way as van gogh because I was happy with the final result, The idea of joining the expressionism portrait and the van gogh transcript was when i was looking through my folder I found both and thought why not.
